Colorado has passed SB24-113 to enhance safety in youth sports. Starting July 1, 2025, all youth sports organizations must:

✅ Require coaches to complete annual mandatory reporter training

✅ Encourage annual abuse prevention training for coaches

✅ Develop and enforce a prohibited conduct policy and code of conduct for coaches, parents, players, and spectators

✅ Conduct criminal background checks on all coaches (excluding occasional volunteers)

✅ Post or distribute an official notice from the Attorney General explaining these safety requirements

Local governments must also create and share a prohibited conduct policy for any youth athletic programs they operate.

This law aims to protect kids, promote accountability, and make sports a safer place to grow.
