Starting 6/1/2024 all employers in Colorado will be prohibited from asking for a job applicant's age, date of birth, or school attendance or graduation dates on an initial job application. There are limited exceptions for job applicants where age is a bona fide occupational qualification related to public or occupational safety, federal law or regulation, or a state or local law or regulation based on bona fide occupational qualification.
This means you can ask for a yes or no answer to a question like, “This job involves serving liquor and requires that you be at least 21 years old. Do you meet the age requirement?”
Schedule an appointment today to have your employment application reviewed for compliance.
